The Lighthouse Holiday Park
The Lighthouse Holiday Park Flamborough – Your Coastal Base, Ten Months a Year
Own at Lighthouse Holiday Park, and you've got the Yorkshire coast whenever you need it - March through December. Ten months means proper seasons. Spring walks when the cliff-top wildflowers start showing. Summer evenings at The Keepers Inn watching the sun drop over the headlands. Autumn mornings with the fishing lake to yourself.
The park sits next to Flamborough Head Golf Club, minutes from those dramatic chalk cliffs you've probably seen in photographs. But here's what the photos don't show: you can walk them whenever you want. Early morning before the day-trippers arrive. Late afternoon when the light's perfect for the puffins at Bempton.
What You Get On-Site
The Keepers Inn gives you somewhere to go that's not your van. Coffee in the morning, something cold after you've been out exploring, or just a seat on the patio whilst the grandkids burn off energy in the play area. It's open to the public, so you get a proper pub atmosphere without leaving the park.
The fishing lake's well-stocked - roach, carp, bream. You'll need a UK freshwater licence and a permit from reception, but then it's there whenever you fancy an hour or two with the rod.
Woodland trails loop around the lake if you just want to stretch your legs without getting in the car. You'll spot local wildlife - nothing dramatic, just the sort of thing that makes you notice you're properly away from it all.
The on-site shop covers the basics, and there's a laundrette for longer stays. Barrier-controlled entry means you know who's coming and going.
Why Flamborough Works
You're 1.4 miles from Flamborough village supermarket, shops, traditional coaching inns clustered around the famous lighthouse. Bridlington's a few miles when you want the full seaside experience with sandy beaches and all the usual attractions.
But the real draw is what's on your doorstep. RSPB Bempton Cliffs for serious birdwatching. North Landing for boat tours and fishing trips. Cliff-top walks where you'll see gannets, razorbills, and if you're lucky, seals hauled up on the rocks below.
The Practical Side
Exclusively for holiday home owners - no touring pitches, no one rocking up for a weekend then disappearing. It's a proper community of people who've chosen this spot for the same reasons you're considering it.
Worth noting - the park's conscious of its coastal location. Development happens carefully, with environmental impact considered. If that matters to you, it's worth knowing.
This is Yorkshire coast ownership without the fuss. Peaceful woodland setting, dramatic cliffs within walking distance, and enough on-site to make longer stays comfortable. Ten months gives you proper access to the seasons - which means you're not just getting summer. You're getting the coast when it's actually at its best.
